General Questions:
Question: How do I download and install these programs?
Answer: Visit the Absolute Futurity home page and click on the link to
the products page. There you will see five of our products underlined, The
"BB-Monitor", "POP-Stopper", "POP-Stopper-IE", "Desktop-It
Notes" and "Image Grabber".
Click on the product you wish to download. This will take you to the product
page. Scroll down until you see the name of the product underlined and
left-click it. A window will appear that gives you the option to "Open". Click
on the "Open" button. This will open the "Unpack Wizard". The Installation process is automated
and will guide you through the steps of installation.
Question: What do I do with the registration key?
Answer: Move your mouse to the bottom right hand side of the screen, you will find a
little icon for the product you installed, right-click on the icon then
left-click on "About" in the menu. When
you get to the About Window there will be a two
buttons. The top button will read purchase, the button below will read Enter
Registration. Click on the Enter Registration button, Now type in your
registration number.
Question: Why does a message appear asking me to purchase this product?
Answer: This means that you have exceeded the trial period (Note that some products do not have a trial period). To
continue using the product without interruptions you must purchase the product
to obtain a registration number or uninstall the product and discontinue use.
The purpose of the trail period is to allow you to try the product before
you buy it.
Question: What is shareware?
Answer: Shareware is a great way to distribute software on the
internet. It allows you to try before you buy, which is much better than any
retail store where you cannot try it before you buy it. But we need your help, Support the shareware cause! The shareware
industry only works because of you. The users are constantly helping us,
adding in their own valuable opinions, input and ideas. In return we constantly
try to push the envelope in creating useful, innovative and powerful
products.
Question: How do I uninstall?
Answer: Make sure you exit the software before you
uninstall it. Windows cannot delete anything that is currently running. Make
sure the icon in the Systray is gone, right-click on it and click Exit. If the
product is POP-Stopper-IE then make sure that you also close all instances of
Internet Explorer. Go to your Control Panel Add/Remove Programs and select the
product and then click Uninstall. If Absolute Futurity - (product name) is not
in the list then you will have to re-install before you can un-install again in
order to make it much easier for you.
If this does not work then go to the location where you installed the software
and just delete the files. They default to C:\Program Files, however keep in
mind that you might have chosen to install it elsewhere.
Question: I purchased already but it is still asking me to purchase?
Answer: Copy and paste your registration key to ensure
that you have entered the correct key. Make sure that you do not have a firewall
blocking the product from accessing the registration server on the internet. All
products verify your registration key when the product is started. If it is
being blocked by a firewall, it will assume that you are not a registered user.
Question: Why doesn't your software work behind a firewall, or simply bypass the firewall?
Answer: The answer is simple; It is illegal to wilfully
and intentionally defeat the security of one's computer by bypassing a firewall.
Firewalls are designed to stop all Internet access from any software that you
have not authorized. Since most of our software requires an Internet connection
you must authorize the software by adding it to the "Allow List" for it to
function correctly. We "DO NOT" make any attempt to comprimise the security
of your computer, nor would it have ever been a consideration.
Click here for Firewall setup help.
Question: Why am I still having issues registering even after setting up my firewall?
Answer: In newer computers, Microsoft included some extra security
features requiring software to put working data inside of a folder that Microsoft determined
to be the best place. This folder is not the same folder that you installed your Absolute
Futurity software. Based on feedback from our customers, we decided to keep the working
data in the same folder where you installed your Absolute Futurity software into. This
makes it much easier to find the working files and data when you need access to it. So
to fix this issue, simply right-click on the launcher icon and click Properties, then
click on the Compatibility tab, then put a checkmark in the "Run this program as an
administrator" box. Then click ok. Next time you start the application, it will ask if
you would like to grant administrator privileges, simply click Yes and you are done.
Speed Test Pro Questions:
Question: Why does it seem to run very slow while "Looking for WIFI Adaptors"?
Answer: When Speed Test Pro stops at loading WIFI Adaptors, then it means that your
firewall is blocking it from downloading important setup information from our server on the Internet.
Speed Test Pro is actually very quick and uses very little resources. The only thing that can
cause Speed Test Pro to run slowly, stop or slow your computer down is if you have set your firewall
up to block Speed Test Pro from accessing the Internet. If you set your firewall up to allow Speed
Test Pro then it will run much more quickly and it will not have to wait for the connection. Do NOT
just disable your firewall as it will not work, you need to add it to the allow list. Here is some
firewall setup help: Firewall setup
Question: What is a Node?
Answer: A Node is a line on the graph. This Node is a data type that gets displayed
on the Graph in the form of a line. You can change the data type for each Node simply by
clicking on the Node in the Graph/Node list in the main control panel and then select the type
you want, like; CPU usage, upload, download, Speed Test, website, etc...
Question: Why do I see Error 9 or Error 53 right after I start Speed Test Pro?
Answer: This error is due to pdh.dll being corrupted or missing. You will have to
replace the file from your original Windows CD or from Microsoft's website.
Question: Can I have more lines on a graph?
Answer: Yes, the registered version allows you to have multiple lines and graphs.
Question: How do I do a Speed Test?
Answer: Simply click on the blue block that says "New Node 1", then click
on the Internet category at the top of the settings panel to the right of the main control panel,
then click on the Speed Test Node type.
Question: Why does my Bar Graphs move by themselves after standby?
Answer: This is because the actual Graph extends off of the screen.
To see this and fix it simply uncheck the Make Transparent box, then resize the window
so that it fits the bars themselves to keep the window from extending off the screen.
Then you can make the Bar Graph transparent again.
Question: I have seen many people reference STP. What does it stand for?
Answer: Many people use this acronym to save time while typing. STP stands for Speed Test Pro.
BBMonitor Questions:
Question: Why does it always show 0Kb?
Answer: You need to change the default connection to watch.
Click on the Tools menu then Options, on the Graphs tab there is a list of
connections to watch. click on the arrow to the right of the item listed and
choose the IP Address of your network card. It is probably easier to just
download a file of just access the internet to see which one shows results. Keep
in mind that if you are not accessing the internet in one way or another, then
BBMonitor will reflect that result.
Question: Why does the icon in the Systray go away when I run the program?
Answer: This is a result of BBMonitor currently not supporting
other date time formats. BBMonitor currently expects the Date and Time format of
your system to be: mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss tt. This bug has been fixed in version 1.2.1
Question: When I run BBMonitor, nothing happens, why?
Answer: This could be from the above question or it could be
because you have it set up in the options to start BBMonitor in the Systray. To
change this, right-click on the icon in the Systray and choose Options then go
to the Misc tab and uncheck the option to start in the Systray. To show the Main
window just double-click on the icon in the Systray.
Question: Why is Ping disabled by default?
Answer: Most servers will get upset if you ping their site
constantly. It is best to set the Ping to a long interval, and use sites that
can handle the bandwidth. It is not recommended to use Ping for an extended
amount of time.
Rapid-Emailer Questions:
Question: I am having trouble getting emails to send.
Answer: The most common reason for emails not being sent is that 99% of ISPs are
blocking port 25 in an attempt to stop spam. If you purchase a Static IP Address from your ISP
and tell them that you need port 25 open in order to run your own "in-house SMTP server"
then you will be able to send as many emails as you would like in a very short amount of time
with Rapid-Emailer.
Here are the most likely reasons:
1) ISP blocking port 25
2) Mail servers not accepting emails from a Dynamic IP Address
3) Anti-Virus software trying to scan outgoing emails (Rapid-Emailer is so much faster it
overloads and bottlenecks the anti-virus software). To solve this, disable outgoing email
scanning while running Rapid-Emailer.
4) Timeout setting are too short, try setting it to 180 or more.
5) Make sure to put a checkmark in the "Obtain DNS server automatically"
6) Check you junk mail folder. Many emails will be sent to the junk mail folder just
because of some key words in the email.
The registered version of Rapid-Emailer comes with full technical support. With technical
support we can help you in the process of ensuring that your emails go through with great success.
Question: Why am I getting many Timeout responses in the Failed List?
Answer: Make sure that you disable your Anti-Virus software until you are done sending your
email campaign. Most Anti-Virus software assumes that emails being sent by a built-in SMTP server
are being sent by a virus, so in turn, the anti-virus program will block them. Please remember to
turn your Anti-Virus software back on after sending your email campaign.
Question: What do I put in the DNS server field?
Answer: Leave it blank. The DNS option stands for (Domain Name Server). Make sure to
put a checkmark in the "Obtain DNS server automatically" field.
This option is for very advanced users who have an IP Address of a different DNS server that they
would like to use. This is very uncommon and should only be used if you really know what you are doing.
The built-in SMTP server uses the DNS server to resolve the direct address to the mail server for
each email sent.
Question: I am getting failed emails that say something about a SMTP relay server?
Answer: Many mail servers, as in AOL, hotmail, and etc.., are resorting to blocking all emails
coming directly from a dynamic IP Address. Since Rapid-Emailer's Built-In SMTP server completely bypasses your
ISP's SMTP server (which already has a Static IP Address), you will need to get a Static IP Address from your
ISP in order for Rapid-Emailer to be treated like a real SMTP server. A dynamic IP Address is the IP Address
that your ISP gives you for residential service. They use dynamic IP Addresses so they can assign any IP
Address they own to any of their customers, and since everybody is not online at the same time they will not
need as many IP Addresses. The best way to resolve this issue is to contact your ISP and ask for a Static IP
Address, which will eliminate this problem and give you a much higher success rate in your email campaigns.
Question: What is the Built-IN SMTP Server option?
Answer: The built-In SMTP option is the fastest method of sending emails. This
option is great since most ISP's (Internet Service Providers) do not allow large amounts of
email to be passed through their SMTP server that they provide for you. With most ISP's they
will cancel your Internet connection if you send too many emails through their SMTP server (some can be as low as 20 emails per day or 200 per month)
regardless if you were just sending emails to your customer base or not. Rapid-Emailer
allows you to bypass your ISP's SMTP server and send emails without having to worry about your
ISP and its SMTP server.
Remember that Rapid-Emailer will be acting as a SMTP server and you will need a Static IP
Address (from your ISP's business department) in order for the rest of the Internet to consider
Rapid-Emailer as a real SMTP server.
Desktop-It Notes Questions:
Question: Why does it do nothing when I run it?
Answer: You either have no Desktop-It notes to view or all of
your Desktop-It Notes are hidden. To open a new Desktop-It Note just double
click on the icon in the Systray.
Question: How do I change Fonts?
Answer: Just click on the Arrow icon on the note you wish to
change the font on and the options will slide open. Then click on FONT and
choose the font you wish. This will allow you to change fonts on the fly. To
change the font of all text in the note, Click in the text area and press CTRL-A
on your keyboard which will select all the text in your note, then change your
font.
POP-Stopper-IE Questions:
Question: Why am I getting popups saying with a Yes No Cancel?
Answer: These are not popups they are just a friendly
reminder to purchase this POP-Stopper-IE. This reminder only reminds you every
10 popups that it BLOCKS. That means if you see the message then the product is
doing its job very well. The only reason that we have that message is so that we
can remind customers that they are still using our product and in order to keep
creating wonderful products for our customers, you need to purchase this product
in order to continue using this product without messages.
Question: Why is it not stopping any popups?
Answer: The POP-Stopper-IE toolbar MUST be visible on the
IE window in order to stop any popups. To see a picture of what the toolbar
looks like, Click Here. If
your toolbar is not visible then close all instances of IE and the open only one
IE and then click on the View menu, then Toolbars and put a checkmark next to
POPStopperIE.CToolbar, the toolbar should now be visible. Now, close that
instance of IE and then your toolbar should be visible every time you start you
IE window from that same shortcut.
Question: It was working for a little while and now it is not?
Answer: Popups are getting smarter and causing errors in
the child windows for IE, which will cause POP-Stopper-IE to act overly
cautious. If this happens, just close all instances of Internet Explorer and
then restart them.
Question: Why can I not access my Yahoo or AOL email?
Answer: All you have to do is go to your web email and
click on the Add Site button on the POP-Stopper-IE toolbar. Keep in mind the URL
names, http:// and https:// are treated as different URLs.
Question: Why does it close some popups that I want?
Answer: POP-Stopper-IE is just trying to be safe rather
than sorry. If it stops a popup that you did not want it to then just click on
the Add URL button on the POP-Stopper-IE toolbar to add the popup to the Allow
list, or click on the Add Site button to add the entire we site to the Allow
list. If you would just like to see that one popup then just click on the long
button containing the URL of the popup.

POP-Stopper (Without the IE) Questions:
Question: I installed POP-Stopper, but it does not close any popups why?
Answer: When a popup opens, move your mouse to the bottom right hand
corner of your screen there you will see the "POP-Stopper" icon double-click
it. look at the name of the popup and mach it in "POP-Stoppers" left
window. When you find it either double-click the name in the
"POP-Stoppers" window, or highlight the name by left clicking it and
adding it to the right window by clicking the arrow over button ">".This
will add the popup to the list of popups that will never open again, unless you
remove them. We here at Absolute Futurity are currently in the process of
creating a new popup remover that will work exclusively with Internet
Explorer. We have added features that will ensure that all popups ever conceived
will never open.
But don't worry, the new features will include the ability to choose the popups
you wish to show. The POP-Stopper we currently have available for download
will work with all the other popular browsers including Mozilla, Netscape and
many others.
ImageGrabber Questions:
Question: Why is it only downloading from one page?
Answer: Because you need to add the pages you wish to download
from to the Parse Links List in the Setup Tab. The Get tab is for single page
downloads ONLY. Be sure to also tell it how many links to follow before you add
it to the list. Once you have added all the pages from which you wish to
download from then click on the Start button.
Question: How do I get it to follow links in the web page I want?
Answer: Before you add pages to the Parse Links List in the
Setup Tab, there is a #of Link Parses field below when you enter your web page
address, enter in that field how many links you would like ImageGrabber to
follow deep into that page.
